Common Questions for a Signature Session
In the field of art, a commission fee means that you are hiring an artist to create you an original piece for purchase. In our studio, said fee includes the time and artistic talent of the photographer. All commission fees are due at the time of booking and do not include prints, products or digital images.
What is the Signature Session?
Signature Sessions are custom sessions that can last up to 1.5 hours including a personal presentation at your in home Session Premiere.
What are the ages and amount of people that can be photographed in any one session?
Brooke Richardson Photography specializes in photographing maternity/newborn, children & families. Family sessions include up to 5 persons. Each individual person is $25.
What time of day will we be doing our session?
Sessions are normally booked in the early mornings or early evenings just before sundown to ensure we have the best lighting conditions. Newborn sessions are also done in the mornings even though those are shot indoors as babies tend to do better earlier in the day.
What should I wear for the session?
All of the details including the styling of your session can be discussed during your pre-session consultation and visuals are available to assist you in the planning of your session wardrobe.
How many images can I expect to see from our session and when will I be able to view them?
Once your signature session is over, you will be be able to view and choose your images during a special presentation either in your home or held at our designated meeting place. You can expect to see about 20-25 images and will have access to exclusive rates the day of your portrait viewing. Turnaround time for viewing your session images are 2-3 weeks for a signature session.
How much retouching is included in my signature session?
Moderate retouching for each session includes evening out skin tones, reducing the look of fine line and wrinkles and correcting minor imperfections for a more streamlined look. Removal of childhood scars, beauty marks or other permanent markings are left alone unless otherwise specified before the session. Retouching techniques that are used will never alter your overall physical appearance only enhance them. Additional enhancements or techniques such as head-swapping is included in the retouching services based on the artist creative judgement
How long will this process take?
From shoot to print you can expect 4-8 weeks depending on the portrait collection and/or products you choose.
Do you shoot extended families or weddings?
At this time, Brooke Richardson Photography does shoot weddings, any private events or photographs extended family members at this time. Sessions are scheduled for individuals or immediate family members.
What is a Session Premiere?
The Session Premiere is where you get to see all the best images from your Signature Session in a beautiful live presentation. At the viewing session, Brooke or an interior portrait consultant will help guide you through image selection and give their expert advice on how to decorate using your families treasured artwork in your space. A decadent dessert is provided as well as discounted pricing to enjoy for that night only.
Do you offer digital negatives?
While our studio focuses on producing stunning artwork for your home and space featuring your family, digital negatives are available for purchase a la carte or within a portrait collection for a premium investment. Digital images can be reprinted and distributed at your leisure. All digital negatives are accompanied by a print release in order to do so. We also provide instructions and suggestions on how to crop and preserve your files when you receive your disk of images. Please note that the digital negatives provided are of the best resolution for optimal, unlimited reprinting options but color quality can vary depending on labs that you use. Therefore, our recommended printing labs are also made available to you.
Do you offer Payment Plans?
Yes, payment plans are available for all of the Portrait Collections offered. Please inquire for more details.
What form of payment do you accept?
Cash, checks and all major credit cards. There will be a $50 returned check fee for any check that is returned by the bank.
What are your shipping fees?
Shipping fees are not included in any of the portrait collections or a la carte products and will be billed on an individual basis. Texas state sales tax will be included on all orders.
